Fall...

I absolutely love fall! It is definately my favorite season. With the temperature cooling, humidity dwindling, and beautiful fall colors coming alive it just makes me happy. If you've ever seen "You've Got Mail," you may remember the scene where Tom Hanks' character Joe Fox is writing to Meg Ryan's character, Kathleen Kelly where he says he loves New York in the fall and it makes him think of freshly sharpened pencils. I love to watch that movie in the Fall- it just makes me happy.

This semester has been somewhat interesting so far. I think I might just possibly have a new version of senior-itis. I can't seem to stay completely interested in what i'm reading or what I'm supposed to be learning- maybe that has something to do with the Fall as well, I'd rather be sitting outside reading a great book! Fall break is next week and I'm headed back home to spend some time with my family, relax, and try to become interested in my classes for this semester so that I can actually pass my exams in December!!

So, as I leave you this time, enjoy the wonderful beauty that is fall, take in the smells, colors, and fresh air and go watch "You've Got Mail" and it will make you happy too!

Hey everyone! So I has been a while since I've written anything but better late than never, right? My summer was awesome! I had a great time at home with my family and I bought the Country Mega Ticket with a friend of mine which basically gets us 5 country concerts for a really good price. We still have two more concerts coming up that I'm really looking forward to. I interned with a small 2 lawyer firm back home. It was good experience to see lawyers in action.

My 3L year so far has been a little crazy. I started a new GA job with the School of Education and haven't managed to catch up and get ahead in all my classes yet. But i'm planning on doing that this weekend. I have some pretty hard classes this semester: Individual Federal Income Tax, Evidence, UCC II, Negotiations, and Wills, Trusts, and Estates. So far they have been pretty interesting. My main goal this year is to work hard trying to find a job (by applying to as many places as humanly possible) and passing all my classes...because starting in May is the hard road towards BAR prep that I'm very nervous about. But with God's help, anything is possible!!

Well...It has been quite a while since I've posted anything. To tell you the truth, I completely forgot about this blog. This semester has been a little crazy since I had night classes three nights a week- I suggest avoiding night classes at all costs. We only have two days of classes left then exams start. Although the prospect of exams makes me completely nervous, I'm very excited that in a little over 2 weeks I'll be home for the summer! I didn't get to go home for the whole summer last year since I worked here in Chesapeake. But this summer I have an internship with a lawfirm near my home town so I will be working there and living at home and coming here every so often to visit the beach. One of the things that I'm really looking forward to this summer is May 19th- my best friend is getting married and I get to be her Maid of Honor. I'm so excited for her because I know she has found the perfect man for her. Another exciting (non school related) thing that I will be doing between now and October is going to 5 awesome country concerts here in VA Beach. I'm sooooo excited! I absolutely love country music; it just makes me happy! In August I will be starting my third year of law school. In some ways it feels like the past 2 years have gone by so fast but in other ways it feels like it is dragging- I guess that's just because I'm so ready to graduate. BUT, I'm definately not looking forward to taking the BAR. Either way, I'm looking foward to starting my last year of law school and hopefully passing with flying colors, studying for the BAR, then becoming a lawyer in a small town- just like I have been working towards. But now its time for me to get back to studying, so until next time- God Bless.

Welcome to 2007. That sounds completly crazy! Well I survived first semester so I'm officially half-way through law school. This semester is really interesting so far because I have night classes three nights a week. So far I still haven't gotten used to my schedule so I'm a little sleep deprived at the moment. I am taking Constitutional Criminal Procedure, Entertainment Law, Professional Responsibility, Labor Law, and Constitutional Law II. Entertainment Law is so interesting although its a 3 hour night class so that is a little tough. I am also going to be doing my rigorous writing paper this semester and at this point I think my topic is going to be dealing with the Screen Actor's Guild. I will keep you posted on how everything is going!

Ok so we officially have about 2 weeks left of classes, ahhhh its kinda crazy. I have entirely too much work to do AND I have been working as hard as I am capable of all semester. But hopefully it will all pay off. I'm going home next Tuesday for Thanksgiving Break. I can't wait!! I am working a couple days at my dad's store so i'll be able to make a little money which is always good. We are having 2 thanksgiving dinners and one luncheon for my church- so plenty of ham and turkey. The hardest thing at this time of the semester is making yourself focus on work when you are just really tired of looking at cases. I put up Christmas decorations already (since I won't be at home for Thanksgiving or Christmas I figured it would be ok to have them up a little early) so that made me anticipate December 15th when my exams are over and I get to go home even more! Anyway, its a crazy time of the semester so I'm going to be extremely busy and I will let you know how everything turns out...

So it has been a while since I have posted but I have been extremely busy. I went home twice in the past three weekends and the weekend in between I went to a drag race (it got postponed from the first weekend that I mentioned in my last post). That was so much fun! Your heart is pounding the whole time as the cars speed down the track and they are going so fast they shake the bleachers. Its crazy but totally fun and exciting. Then going home was awesome too. I just needed some time away from here and time to spend with my parents and my brothers. But NOW it is time to get down to business. I have been pretty much keeping up with all my assignments this semester but I am having a little bit of a tough time doing extra stuff to get ready for finals. Also I have this stuff I'm supposed to work on for the Commonwealth's Attorney at home and it is supposed to be done by Thanksgiving but I have been so busy that I haven't gotten a chance to work on it hardly any. So my plan is to spend this weekend working on homework and outlines and by next Friday hopefully have 5 working outlines up-to-date. THEN after that I want to work on the stuff for the Attorney and keep my outlines up to date and try to just keep up with class and what not. Hopefully that will allow me time to review everything and start studying for finals soon. They are coming...we have about 5 weeks left of classes then I have a week off before my first exam. Which is cool, EXCEPT for the fact that I have all five of my exams in ONE week. That is kind of scary!!! AHHHHH. Ok so i'm justifiably stressed out at this point. But I'm just praying for guidance and support, stamina, and focus for the next month and a half so I know everything will be OK!

I'm going home!!! I am not homesick or anything but I just can't wait to go home and i'm leaving tomorrow as soon as Crim Law is over. I have lots of stuff planned for this weekend. First, on Friday I am going to my highschool's homecoming game. It is my 5th year homecoming reunion (although I didn't graduate until the spring of 02 of course, but 5th year since my senior homecoming). So I figured I'd go, see who I see, talk to old teachers and what not. Then Saturday I'm going to the Toroco Racing Fuels NHRA Nationals at the Virginia Motorsports Park. My daddy has been drag racing forever but recently got out of it for a while (he bought a harley instead) but this is the big guys. John Force and the big boys of NHRA are coming back to our track for the first time in a few years and I can't wait!! Then I'm just going to be hanging out with my family for the rest of the weekend. I may have mentioned before that I'm from a really small town. Well it only has about 1800 people in the town itself (the county is bigger of course). We know everyone and everyone knows everyone's business. But thats the life of a small town and I love it. It doesn't help for my family that my dad owns the most popular convenience store in town and since we don't have any fast food stores (I'm serious, not even a McDonalds) and we sell awesome hotdogs, we are VERY busy and everyone definately knows us. I can't wait to get out of law school, find an awesome job someone at some great law firm, practicing some type of law (as you can tell I don't know exactly what I want to do or where I'm going to be) and THEN settle down in my town! I was born and raised there and want to raise my kids there too. We are generally a safe town. Not to mention pretty much my whole family and all my friends are from there. Oh yeah its also Autumn Days weekend this weekend. They block off main street and have all kinds of fun stuff set up for kids to do (big kids too of course). I haven't been in a few years so I might just have to put in an appearance. Although I have tons of work I could and should be getting done this weekend, I think my weekend will most likely be spent relaxing with my family and enjoying small town life!
